A MESSAGE FROM THE ROAD TO CHICAGO!
My kids are my world. Life was never picture perfect but we have always been the 3 musketeers. I started running many years ago which first began as therapy, then became a love which quickly turned into me wanting everyone to find the same joy I did in racing. I struggled over the years with self worth and finding my place in the world running gave me purpose similar to the kids going through this program. We all just want to find where we belong. Many people don’t understand the discipline and the work ethic it takes to run a marathon over the years I have been lucky enough to show both of my kids what hard work and determination can give you… a life you could have only dreamed of. The kids at Mercy Home are just hoping for that chance at a better life and greater opportunities. I am lucky enough I get to help with that and get to race this amazing race. I never believed I would have a chance to run Chicago and as they say all things happen for a reason. Daniel came into my life and showed me the beauty of Chicago and Vicky somehow made this all possible that I get to run in my new favorite city with my favorite person in the entire world.
