A MESSAGE FROM Jim Zacharias
Welcome to my fundraising page for the Mercy Home Heroes Chicago Marathon. This will be my sixth marathon and my second time running the Chicago Marathon. I was signed up to run it in 2024, but in August, I was told I would need to have open heart surgery to replace a valve. I had to shut down my training and skip the race, but thanks to all of you, I still raised money for Mercy Home.
Once I recover from my surgery, I intend to resume training, and I will be back to run in October of 2025. I need your help again to raise money for the boys and girls of Mercy Home. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button! I am trying to reach at least $250 by November 21st to secure my spot. Please help me get there.
Life has thrown some adversity my way, but I believe that this adversity was sent for a reason. I am going through this so that I can be even stronger than I was before, and hopefully to inspire others to realize that any obstacle can be overcome if you are just committed to keep moving forward and giving your full effort.
Please help me raise funds for Mercy Home so that we can also inspire those kids by letting them know that there are people in this world who care about them and want to help them reach their big goals in life.
To quote one of my favorite motivational speakers, "I can, I will, I must!"
